South Korea dreams of self-reliance in robot technology 대한민국 로봇기술의 자립을 꿈꾸다 South Korea had been heavily reliant on Japan for the core components and technology but after Japan's trade restrictions, we see a localization boom in many industries. The robotics industry covers the core technology of the fourth industrial revolution and now, there is a boost in self-reliance for technology and core components. After Japan's trade restrictions, President Moon Jae-in visited a Korean company which develops core components for robots. On this week's #Korea 4.0, we visit SBB TECH which President Moon visited to check out the development of robot components. We also learn about the present status and the necessary measures required for Korea to achieve technology independence with Professor Han Chang-soo of the Department of Interdisciplinary Engineering Systems at Hanyang University.
